Joe graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.  Joe earned his Certified Hotel Administrator Certification in 1999 from the American Hotel and Lodging Association.  Professional seminars include; Dale Carnegie, Career Track, and Achieve Global among others. Joe is an active board member of Ann Arbor Area Conventions and Visitor's Bureau and past president in 2009.
 
Joe has worked at 10 hotels in 5 states in his hospitality career spanning over 23 years.  He has worked in hotels ranging in size from 119 rooms to over 1,500 rooms.  Joe has worked for 6 major hotel brands and has worked at 5 different Holiday Inns.  Joe has accumulated over 18 years of service to the Holiday Inn brand.  Joe has been selected to sit on a hotel product advisory board for the Holiday Inn brand.
 
Joe assumed his roll as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan in May of 2005.  Since that time, Joe has renamed the hotel and overseen numerous remodeling projects.  In 2005 he and Heidi Keller started the Blues Series, Local Brews & Local Brews. Join us each Saturday at 8 pm for the finest local blues music. As a Hospitality Professional, Joe believes that guest service is the most important thing in being a successful hotel.  In 2008 Joe spearheaded an effort to become Ann Arbor's Friendliest Hotel.   In 2009 the hotel won its first service award with Holiday Inn. Joe is very proud of the team at the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan for earning its Green Lodging Certification from the Michigan Department of Energy in July of 2010. 
 
Joe enjoys time with his wife and son, watching and playing sports of all kinds and is an avid music lover.

Tracy Prebish has directed human resources for the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan since 2004.  Prior to joining the Holiday Inn team she worked in human resources for Pilot Industries, an automotive manufacturing company.  She brings with her more than 10 years human resources experience.  Tracy is passionate about her work and creating the ultimate work experience for Ann Arbor's Friendliest Employees.

Nancy has held various sales positions working at 7 major hotels brands and 1 independent hotel over her career.  As an Ann Arbor native, Nancy is passionate about the area and the hospitality industry.  She is trilled to be a part of Ann Arbor's Friendliest and Greenest hotel.
 
Nancy is married with 3 grown children and 5 nana babes.  In her spare time Nancy enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, bicycling and shopping.

Keiko joined the hotel in September of 2009 as Director of Business Development. 
 
The previous 18 years Keiko has held various senior management positions with major global tier 1 suppliers as well as an OEM in the automotive industry.  Keiko's expertise is focused on Project Management, Integrated Strategic Business Plan, Business Development, and Global Advanced Sales & Marketing.  
 
Prior to entering the automotive industry, Keiko was a full time faculty member at a state university in Ohio. Keiko has been on the board of various community and civic organizations in Ohio and Michigan. Keiko is trilingual (English, Japanese and German).

Daniel started as a Banquet Houseman in 1999. Eleven years later he is still with us and has progressed from Houseman to Banquet Captain to his current position as Banquet Manager. Daniel graduated from the University of Michigan's business school with high distinction in 2008. Daniel's extended experience and knowledge help us to provide you with the ultimate event experience. Born and raised in Ann Arbor he has a comprehensive knowledge of Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas. Heidi Keller is our Food and Beverage Director and Executive Chef.  She has
23 years of experience in the industry.  She worked as a short order cook while attending Western Michigan University for Pre-Law.  After obtaining a position as a line cook for Gibson's fine dining restaurant, Heidi switched gears and began culinary school at GRCC in Grand Rapids.  During her studies, she completed an internship at Little Traverse Bay Golf course and restaurant in Petoskey, MI, in 1996.  She worked full time as Head Pastry Chef at the B.O.B in Grand Rapids while attending school full time.  She worked for the Gilmore Group for 5 years at their various restaurants in Grand Rapids and Grand Haven as a corporate pastry chef and sous chef.  Her final year in Grand Rapids was spent at Watermark Country Club, where she gave up her job as pastry chef in order to gain experience in the front of the house.  She started as server and moved up to bartender and finally restaurant supervisor.  After moving to Ann Arbor in 2001, Heidi bartended for 3 years at Leopold's Brewery, and worked asSous Chef at D'Amatos.  From there, Heidi spent the next 3 years at Katherine's catering, fine tuning banquet and catering presentations, cooking for high profile clients in the Ann Arbor area, teaching cooking classes at Kitchen Port, and representing the business through various media outlets like Catering Magazine and the Ann Arbor News.
 
Heidi has been a part of our team since 2005, starting as the Executive Chef, and working her way up to Food and Beverage Director, and most recently, band booking and promotion for our highly regarded 'Local Blues and Local Brews' program.  She obtained her certification through American Hotel and Lodging Association for Food and Beverage Executive in 2008.

Barbara has over 22 years in the hospitality industry. Barbara brings a wealth of experience as an Executive Housekeeper to the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan. She has held various management positions working at several independent hotels and different hotel brands, most of them in Wisconsin. Barbara has served as the Queen of Clean at the hotel for over 6 years. She brings very high standards to our cleanliness here at the hotel.

Accounting:
Connie Clark, Controller

Connie Clark has been Controller for the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan for the past 18 years.  Beginning her hospitality career in Florida, Connie spent the next 10 years working for hotel brands such as Hilton, Westin and Holiday Inn as well as several independent hotels before coming to Ann Arbor.  Connie takes pride in being detail oriented and overseeing the finances of the hotel.

Engineering:

With over ten years experience in hospitality Jay has still not seen it all! Jay started his career working as a line level, part time employee, but soon found that making people happy was his true love.

 
Working at a Double Tree a, the fulfillment of leaving the guest satisfied 100 percent of the time came easy for him.  Soon he found himself leaving the private sector and making a career in the hospitality field. Jay has been Chief at the Holiday Inn Near the University of Michigan for over five years.
 
When not making the guest happy, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three kids and countless hours hiking through the beautiful local parks.
